It doesn't matter what is legal in your country, there are no exceptions to this rule. In order to preserve the gaming community we've all worked so hard to build, we ask that you respect Sega-16 and refrain from the discussion of illegal ROMs. As companies continue to release retro games through virtual releases or retro gaming packs for modern gaming systems, the threat of getting a cease-and-desist order grows.

Threads discussing the location or acquiring of ROMs and/or illegal (pirated) software will be locked per the discretion of a forum moderator or administrator. Illegal ROMs are defined as any ROM, regardless of age, that has been copyrighted in the past 100 years. Out of respect to retrogaming stores, game developers, and growing legal concerns, discussion about the obtaining of illegal ROMs is prohibited.

While emulation discussion is permitted due to its importance in the areas of archiving and historical documentation of the gaming industry, no ISO trading, ROM begging, bootlegging, copyright infringement, or assistance with any of these is permitted – for example warez FTP site details. 0 Comments No optical media here Optical media, with its megabytes of cheap storage space, may have helped propel the Sony PlayStation to market dominance over the Nintendo 64, but for collectors and retro gamers it has now become more of a curse than a blessing. My Dreamcast reads all the GD-ROMs fine, and the Utopia boot disc fine.ĭoes anyone still make "backups" and burns of homebrew games and emulators? If you do, how do you personally burn them? For some games, like the new Counterstrike for DC game, it goes to the music menu and then does nothing. What it does exactly is it makes noises like it's going to read the disc, then it stops. The problem with that is that it's only really compatible with burners made prior to about 2002 and I have no burners that old. The only idea I have left is that I need to use Nero 5.5 because I know that's how I always used to do it and it worked fine. I've tried everything I could think of: adjusting the dreamcast laser, using different computers/burners to make the discs, using different software packages (Nero, Discjuggler, Alcohol 120%, bootdreams) and absolutely nothing has worked.
The ONLY thing I've gotten working is the Utopia boot disc, but nothing else. I always used to burn Homebrew games and emulators with Nero when I was a lot younger, but it doesn't seem to work anymore.
